| The Revista de Ciencias Sociales
is a peer review academic publication, that publishes original research
articles in social sciences, priority in sociology. It seeks for
innovative, methodological and theoretical development, as well as an
original empirical evidence on issues of national, regional and
international interest related to these disciplines. The Revista de Ciencias Sociales is published by the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of the Republic of Uruguay. It is heir to the Revista de Ciencias Sociales that appeared from 1971 to 1973. With the return of democracy in 1985, it began its Second Age, with the name of Social Science Journal. It began to be a peer reviewed journal in 1986 and went on to have external evaluation in 2000. Since 2024 became a continuous publication, maintaining two annual issues (January-June and July-December) The Revista de Ciencias Sociales has an online version of open access (<https://rcs.cienciassociales.edu.uy>), and is aimed at scholars, researchers and professionals in the disciplines of sociology and other social sciences. It has a section of research papers and other of reviews and essays as well as non-refereed bibliographic reviews |
