SUPERVIELLE, Marcos. Work notions in Uruguay:. Rev. Cien. Soc. [online]. 2017, vol.30, n.41, pp.14-34. ISSN 0797-5538. https://doi.org/10.26489/rvs.v30i41.1.
The notion of work culture is an omnipresent category in the world of work. To account for it, methodologically, it is necessary to observe how other notions of work culture that struggle for hegemony in the same social space are confronted, and how it emerges from them multiple individual and collective behaviors and actions that become more dense, and complex the world of work. This article focuses on the Uruguayan case, and confronts the notions of labor of the entrepreneurs with those of workers, those of the entrepreneurs to each other, those of the multinational companies and also of these with the workers. It also analyzes the struggle to impose a feminine notion of women’s work against the predominantly masculine hegemonic, the notion of work of adults and that of youth, and so on. All these aspects mark the dynamics of the work and allows us to do better understand work in Uruguay.
