VALENCIA-TELLO, Diana Carolina. Liberal Revolutions and Legal Cultures. Rev. Fac. Der. [online]. 2020, n.49, e101. Epub 01-Nov-2020. ISSN 0797-8316. https://doi.org/10.22187/rfd2020n49a1.
Through reflection on liberal revolutions it is possible to verify the existence of different legal cultures, which within the framework of European culture generate various legal institutions for the consolidation of the nation-state. Studying the history of legal cultures in liberal revolutions will help us to understand that every culture has its beliefs, norms and values, which are in a constant flow and do not change as quickly as the formal norms of a new legal order. These cultural limitations allow us to connect the past with the present and the future, which helps explain the fact that history matters, because we cannot understand the present without understanding the trajectory of the institutions in our societies.
