Theoretical proposals from North American researcher Elfreda Chatman (1942-2002) about information poverty and “life in the round” come up really valuable to investigation which requires deep understanding in behaviour facing information in small worlds and to know how people who live in them determine which information is, which information they want and need, how they get to them, use it and build up meaning.

The article sets a dialogue among those theoretical inputs and some Project results "Perspective of old age and gender in disadvantaged environments: towards inclusive information and communication strategies, the Ibirapitá Plan and the Care System (InfoCoMayores)".

Particulary, incorporates -from depth interviews- social mediator’s perception from public-cultural services and information, responsable for workshop formation and training to tablet use.

That, corroborates a survey result that characterized the informative behaviour of poor elder women and identified poor contexts from information where life runs in isolated outdoor contacts, with rutinary and little cotidian displacement, with narrow geographical, affective and vital limits.
