ROBLES FRANCIA, Víctor Hugo y ROBLES RAMOS, V. Adrián. The Secret as the Base of the Camarilla: An Undercover Ethnographic Study in a Hospital Organization. Rev. urug. Antropología y Etnografía [online]. 2020, vol.5, n.2, pp.95-112. Epub 01-Dic-2020. ISSN 2393-7068. https://doi.org/10.29112/ruae.v5.n2.5.
The purpose of the present study was to identify the secrets between cliques of a hospital establishment. The findings of the present study highlight the importance of covert ethnography, showing the secrets of these groups. Two related cases are reported, one on septic shock and the other on unspecialized surgery, which affected the health of the respective patients. It was shown that shared secrecy and mutual trust between cliques form full cohesive groups in an organization, since they mutually protect their secrets, safeguarding substantial information and even endangering the lives of other individuals.
